Primary

So I was recently asked at church to do the music in Primary, which is the classes for kids age 18 mos up to 12 years old. I've been a little nervous about it but have had fun so far. Ken is quite jealous as that was his favorite "job" at church. Well, this past Sunday, I decided to do something to get their attention. It worked.

This is what the kids saw at the start of singing time. (Just a few more jars and spoons.) In the jar is a mixture of water and vinegar. The spoon has food coloring and baking soda.

And the process....

The spoons had songs written on them. The kids loved it. And it got the older boys to actually sing. I will definitely have to do this one again sometime.

Guess who's sitting up

Guess who's sitting up all by himself now. He started about a week or so ago. Trust me, its wonderful! And he's pretty proud of himself too.

This was Isabella before church this morning in her pretty dress and my slippers, which she has decided are her "glass slippers."

So then Ken stood Bryce up in his shoes. Bryce wasn't too sure about that.

Fixing the deck

The railing on our deck was really bad, even I didn't want to lean against it for fear of some pretty major splinters. So we decided to go ahead and replace it, especially since it would only take 4 boards. We went and got the boards and Isabella "helped" bring them in the house. Ken then measured and measured and measured and sawed (with a borrowed saw from Dad). We had forgotton to buy some nails though. So later we went over to Linda and Mike's house for a while and they offered to let us borrow their compressor and nail gun. Oh darn! So once we had that, I think it took all of 10 minutes to put the boards back in place (we'd taken them down overnight so they wouldn't fall) and nail them in. It looks nice. Sorry, I don't have a completed picture. I'll post one soon. Here's some pictures of Isabella "helping."

And hey, what better place to watch a movie than in a tent set up on the deck. We all sat and ate popcorn in the tent last night.

Easter

A few pictures from Easter. We did not have regular church on Easter Sunday, so there was no pretty new Easter dress this year. But she'll get some new dresses soon, if only because she's outgrowing all the ones she has.

Dying easter eggs

Bryce "found" an egg

Isabella finding the eggs the Easter Bunny hid

Showing off her loot

Bryce trying to steal the eggs

Playing with the Play-doh that was left in her Easter basket

To explain the cape that she's wearing, she's being "Super Bunny," which is from her favorite show, Max and Ruby

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter too.

Catchup

I need to do a little catch-up before I do my Easter post. So here's a few fun pictures.

Just a cute picture of Bryce trying to chew on his toes.

The only picture where they're both looking at the camera

Cute pic of Isabella, too bad Bryce wasn't cooperating, don't you love his snazzy duds though

My chunky monkey

She was showing off the barrettes in her hair

Heaven forbid we get a normal picture of the kids together

She stole the hair wrap that Ken gave me for Christmas, she thinks its her princess hat or her party hat. Don't ask me what the look on her face is though.

One of Bryce's favorite places (and ours too)

Chillin' out at dinner last night trying to gnaw his way into a bag of Goldfish

Just too cute to pass up taking a picture

For a little girl who fights taking a nap, she sure crashed out
