Bryce McArthur Gallahan

Bryce McArthur Gallahan was born on Monday, September 14, 2009, at 12:37pm. He weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long. He is sure a cutie and is doing great. Mom is doing great too. We were able to be released from the hospital yesterday, the 17th. We are enjoying being home but definitely getting used to having two little ones around. Here's some pictures for you to enjoy of the newest addition.


Its hard to tell, but his hair is blondish. Definitely not as dark as Isabella's was.

Isabella checking out her new baby brother. She wasn't too sure about him the first day but she seems to be warming up to him a little now. The first day at the hospital was hard. Big changes for her and she wouldn't come near me as I was still hooked up to all the monitors and such.

Tammy and her new bundle of joy. The doctor said this morning that he has very strong legs, Tammy is happy that those legs are no longer kicking her ribs on a daily basis.

Safety First

Some toys we were given from some friends that are moving included some toy tools. Isabella loves them. The other day she comes upstairs to show off her "safety goggles." Of course, there's no lenses or anything in them, but its funny that she has to have them on. So here's our little carpenter.






And this was just a funny picture of her sitting on the couch staring at the BIG TV after Ken finished rearranging the living room yesterday. Its just funny. She's still not completely sure what to think about the TV.

Kayaking, broom horses, and a desperate need to rearrange

So Ken actually took a holiday off today. As he works in retail, he has to work most holidays, but he decided to take today, Labor Day, off. Of course, part of that reason was that he wanted to go kayaking with a friend from church. So despite the overcast skies, they headed out this morning. I believe they went down Neabsco Creek. They were gone a few hours and Ken said his back is definitely feeling it already. Just wait, he'll probably feel it even more tomorrow. Here are the pictures that Ken took while out on the water.






Aunt Linda taught Isabella a new trick tonight. Using a broom as a horse. Here's some pictures and a couple videos of her with her "horse." We thought her attempt at galloping was quite funny.








Okay, Ken sister was nice enough to give us a TV they were getting rid of. She told Ken that it was a 25" TV, well, when we got there it was a 36" TV. So we knew immediately that we would be putting it in our living room. However, here is where it currently sitting.

Hence the desperate need to rearrange. We will be rearranging our living room tomorrow so that we don't feel like we're sitting 2 feet from a humongous TV. Thank you for the TV though Teresa.

Baby update - there really is no update. I'm in waiting mode. We are 37 weeks as of today, which means that I am technically full term and they won't stop labor if it starts. My sisters think that the baby has dropped but I don't think he has as much as they think. Who knows. Anyways, we'll find out one of these days when this baby decides to come. We'll keep you updated. And hey, the hospital has wireless internet, so you may get updated very quickly.

These first two pictures are just funny to me. Isabella put on this Washington Nationals baseball cap and made Ken take pictures. She is too goofy.




So we've had these letters to spell out Isabella's name on her bedroom wall since she was born. We never did get them painted and put up. Well, Ken doesn't like having any "dead space" on the walls in her room, so he dug them and the paint out and decided to paint them last night. Of course, Isabella had to help. She was very upset when they were done. So after dinner, we pulled out the finger paints that she got for her birthday and let her go to town. She had a blast.





I couldn't help but laugh this morning at this picture. We recently were given a bunch of kids toys from some friends at church. Isabella quickly became attached to these binoculars, which she calls her camera. She figured out that she can hang them around her neck and carry them with her. I just had to laugh though cause she looks like a little tourist.



And I figured I'd add a couple pics of the "baby." This is me at 36 weeks. Only 4 more weeks until our due date. I'm hoping to go before then though.

What is she gonna do when this baby is actually here?

So we've still been slowly doing some things to try to get ready for the baby. Yesterday Ken pulled out the infant carrier and pulled the cover off so it could get thrown in the washing machine. We also have a bassinet that belongs to my brother and his wife. So we pulled the cover off of that and threw it in the washing machine too (its been stored in an attic for 5 years, so it was a little dusty). When we put the cover back on the bassinet, Isabella decided she needed to try it out.



This afternoon, she had a pillow at one end and was sitting in it watching TV. Crazy kid!


On a side note, the Redskins won last night!!! I know its only pre-season, but they WON!
