Disney Hollywood Studios

So we made it to Orlando yesterday. The resort is gorgeous. Sometime this week I will post pictures of our unit and our view. Right now we are recovering from a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It was definitely a lot of walking. Tomorrow we plan on visiting Magic Kingdom. Right now, we're enjoying the fireworks from Epcot from the comfort of the living room of our unit.

Highlights from today:

  • Watching my mother-in-law tooling around on her rented scooter
  • seeing Isabella get excited about seeing Mickey Mouse
  • Bryce squeeling in delight at anything and everything
  • watching Isabella during Fantasmic and covering her eyes (but still looking through her fingers) at the scary parts but staring and smiling in wonder at Mickey Mouse
  • watching the wonderful and amazing artistry in the show Fantasmic

Here are the few photos that were taken today:

Bryce tasting the stroller in the bus on the way to the park

Isabella, Daddy, and Uncle Mike playing at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground

Hopefully we'll remember to take more pictures tomorrow.

Disney World here we come!

Notice our new background? We leave in exactly one week to head to Florida and Walt Disney World. Isabella is quite excited to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. And of course, Cinderella and Snow White. I'll try to post pics a couple times while we're down there.

Catch up

I need to catch up with a few pictures.

Bryce got a new coat, mostly because he's too long to use the carseat cover. He loves being bundled into the coat. Not so much about getting hooked into the carseat though.

Three days after the big snow dump, this finally showed up to clear our street.

See our icicles?!?

Then the second snow dump came and they brought this out. I'm not sure how much good it did since it couldn't get up the hill.

Bryce tries to hold his own bottle now. It doesn't usually work though.

And he tries to steal his Daddy's drink.

This is what we wanted him to do at night for about 5 days straight. But luckily his two little teeth finally cut through and he's sleeping much better.

My two sweet munchkins.

These were the icicles that formed on our church building. That big one is actually connected to the ground/snow below it.

And even more snow pictures (are you tired of them yet?)

So this was the 4th largest snow storm in the Washington DC area. Crazy!

This was our street this morning. It pretty much still looks like this. Evidently one of the trucks from our HOA blew up, so it may be a while before we get cleared out.

And this is what our cars look like.

Mike, Linda, and the missionaries came over yesterday and helped clear out some of the sidewalks, so they're not too bad today.

We finally got Bryce bundled up and out in the snow this afternoon. He wasn't too sure about it.

Especially when we put him down in a hole.

He didn't mind standing on the snow too much.

Look, I found my seat.

Isabella standing in a hole. She has a bunch of packed snow she's standing on and it still came to her waist.

My munchkins.

My boys.

All my chillin's to include a couple snowmen and the neighbors pink flamingo.

Mike came and picked us up to bring us over to their house for the Super Bowl. So we're hanging out and enjoying ourselves with good family and friends.

Snow Pictures

Its SNOWING! Big surprise, huh?

I thought this was funny that they came through on Thursday and put flags in next to the fire hydrants. Although, looking out there today, I can see why.

Oh look, its finally sticking. This was about 4:30pm. It had started snowing about 10am. It had just been turning to slush, so now we have a nice layer of ice underneath everything.

This was about 10-15 minutes after I had shoveled the sidewalk last night. They had come and plowed our street not too long before. They were up and down Holleyside Dr (the street we're off of) about every half hour trying to keep up with the snow.

And this is our world this morning and its not expected to stop until sometime tonight. So you can expect more pictures later.

Snow prediction

So they upped the predicted snow totals for our area to 18-24+ inches. YIKES!

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

HOLY COW!

They're predicting 12-20 inches or more snow for us this weekend. What the heck is up with Virginia?

And even more snow!

So last night, we still had quite a bit of snow left on our deck from our snow storm last Saturday. After dinner, Ken and Isabella went outside to play in the snow for a little while. Isabella hadn't really had a chance to play in the snow much the last couple of storms. Of course, it was starting to snow while they were out there as well. We got another 4 inches last night on top of what was left from the 5 1/2 inches we got over the weekend. And we're supposed to get more this weekend. You'd think we live in Utah or something. Nope, we're still in Virginia. I don't remember having a winter with this many snowstorms. As long as its warm when we go to Florida in a few weeks, I'll be happy.

Here's some pictures on Ken and Isabella playing in the snow last night.

And fast forward to this morning, where we had a world of white again. This was a very pretty snow and the trees looked beautiful. So I had to take a few pictures. And with a couple tips from The Pioneer Woman, I was able to play with them in Photoshop and really show off the beauty of the trees.
